Dive Steve's Twin Ledges - A South Florida Reef Dive SiteType: Drift dive on a reef. Depth range: 33 - 45 ft. Suggested Skill Level: Open Water Diver or equivalent experience. Location: Pompano Beach (inner & middle reef) Description: Steve's Twin Ledges is located just south of the Pompano Beach Pier. Both Ledges run north and south parallel to the shoreline. The top of the western ledge is approximately 33 ft and drops to the west 5-7 ft to the sand. The eastern twin slops to 40-45'ft on the west side to the sand. The ledges are adorned with tropical fish. Lobsters are usually abundant during mini season.
Navigation: The landward ledge has the best definition, begin on either end and follow the reef edge. It does get confusing at times due to gaps. You can always head east as well and pick up the seaward ledge.
