Coral Spawning Night Dive

Approximately 6-8 days after the August full moon we should see star and boulder corals spawning about 3 hours after sunset.

The corals have evolved a method of reproduction called 'Broadcast Spawning." The coral polyps send their eggs and sperm into the water in massive quantities. When egg and sperm unite resulting larval-stage "planula' swims to the surface to drift in the current and grow.  Thus creating our future coral reefs.

This is an exceptional opportunity for underwater photographers and nature lovers. This wonder of nature only occurs once a year, you cannot not miss it!

We have a trip planned Departing: To be annouced

We expect to see spawning begin around: to be announced
